USA Mobility Names Colin Balmforth President of Amcom Software

SPRINGFIELD, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- USA Mobility, Inc. (NAS: USMO) , a leading provider of wireless messaging,mobile voice, data and unified communications solutions, today announced the appointment of Colin Balmforth as President of Amcom Software, effective today.

Balmforth joins Amcom, USA Mobility's software subsidiary, after four years at Lawson Software, Inc. where he had been Group Executive Vice President of Lawson's Subscription Business unit. He succeeds Christopher D. Heim, who left Amcom Software in June but remains on USA Mobility's Board of Directors.

Colin will be responsible for managing Amcom's overall operations, most specifically driving revenue and profit growth through business and product development as USA Mobility continues to transition from a paging carrier to a provider of a broader range of wireless and software services."

Balmforth has more than 20 years of operational management experience in the software technology industry. At Lawson Software he oversaw the Company's $450 million subscription business, including Cloud Services, Managed Services, SaaS (software as a service), Maintenance and Support. Prior to this, he was Group Executive Vice President for General Industries including software sales, services and general management of Lawson's industry vertical group. Previously, he was Global Vice President of Professional Services at Intelliden, Inc., a provider of network automation software. Before that, Balmforth was Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Conexus Partners LLC, a software and information technology provider. From 1998 to 2003, Balmforth held operations and business leadership roles in Europe and USA with J.D. Edwards & Co., Inc., an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software company and PeopleSoft, Inc. Prior to this, Balmforth was based in London, U.K. and held various international leadership positions in software development and customer services with technology companies such as Computervision, Prime Computers and Parametric Technology Corp.

Balmforth, a dual citizen of the United States and the United Kingdom, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Hertfordshire in London. He will be relocating from Colorado to Amcom's headquarters office in Eden Prairie, MN.
