HRMAC Announces Chicagoland Awards of Excellence Recipients

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The Human Resources Management Association of Chicago today named Jim Bell, President & CEO of Veolia ES Technical Solutions, and Moira Madell of Madell Consulting, its 2012 Leader of the Year and Volunteer of the Year award recipients, respectively. The award presentations were held during HRMAC's premier event, SUMMIT 2012.

The annual Leader of the Year award program honors one Chicago-based business leader who has demonstrated the ability to execute leading-edge human capital practices while realizing business strategy success. Mr. Bell was selected by the HRMAC Board of Directors for his proven ability to lead by example, prioritize employees ahead of shareholders and implement successful human capital initiatives within the Veolia organization.

The 'President's Call for Excellence' quarterly award program, which recognizes employees who have demonstrated exceptional effort to aid a peer or a customer.

The open-forum 'Breakfast with Bell' project, held at Veolia operating locations to provide local employees an opportunity to ask candid questions and receive honest feedback.

Ms. Madell, the 2012 Volunteer of the Year, was also selected by the HRMAC Board of Directors. As a long-time HRMAC member, Ms. Madell has been a leader, a follower, a cheerleader and participant in nearly every type of event offered through HRMAC. She has mentored volunteers, leveraged best practices from the corporate arena into her HRMAC activities, actively recruited prospective members and served as a true peer-expert in her many speaking roles.

Ms. Madell currently serves HRMAC in the volunteer role of Membership Committee chair, which she has held for two years. Among the best membership activities initiated under her chairmanship are the regional Meet-and-Greet receptions and HRMAC's new three-month trial membership program.

Ms. Madell has clearly demonstrated her commitment to HRMAC and the practice of HR by her tireless efforts, enthusiastic participation and collaborative spirit. She meets all criteria of the award, most notably as an "unsung hero" who has gone above and beyond the call of duty while providing distinguished service to further the HRMAC mission.

SUMMIT 2012 is the largest annual gathering of human resources professionals in the Midwest and includes presentations by business and industry thought-leaders, a trade show and special events for various groups.
