MakeMusic Announces Plans for SmartMusic for iPad

SmartMusic iPad App to Officially Launch in Spring 2013

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- MakeMusic, Inc. (NAS: MMUS) today announced the upcoming release of an iPad version of SmartMusic, the interactive practice software, in the spring of 2013. The app will be previewed to the public at the New York State School Music Association Winter Conference, November 29 - December 2, 2012, and The Midwest Clinic Annual Conference, December 19 - 22, 2012.

Offering much of the functionality found in the desktop version of SmartMusic, the upcoming app includes quality practice tools, assessment and accompaniment features as well as access to the entire content library with a SmartMusic subscription.

Staying true to the company mission of developing solutions that transform how music is composed, taught, learned, and performed, the decision to bring SmartMusic's key features to the mobile device was a natural one. "We are seeing schools everywhere adopting iPads in the classroom," said Barry Brown, SVP, product management and marketing. "Technology is driving how teachers and students interact, learn and make music and the deployment of SmartMusic on the iPad demonstrates our commitment to deliver solutions in a way our consumers want to use them."

The app will be available for download on the Apple iTunes store in spring 2013. More information about SmartMusic and other MakeMusic brands can be found at makemusic.com.
