InterDigital Scientist Selected to Join Rutgers University Electrical and Computer Engineering Advisory Board

WILMINGTON, Del.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- InterDigital, Inc. (NAS: IDCC) , a wireless research and development company, today announced that Ariela Zeira, Vice President with the company's Innovation Labs unit, has been selected to join the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Advisory Board at Rutgers University. The mission of the advisory board is to foster connections with industry partners, secure internships for the ECE students, identify promising research areas and funding opportunities, and in general, increase the visibility of the department.

As one of the most advanced wireless researchers in the world, Dr. Zeira brings a breadth of experience and knowledge to the advisory board having initiated and led projects for video over wireless networks, next generation cellular systems and algorithm designs for 3G and 4G model chip sets. After 14 years at InterDigital, Dr. Zeira oversees the company's technology incubation department and has led cutting edge technology developments for wireless and multimedia systems. In addition, she has played an integral role in business development and strategy planning.

Prior to joining InterDigital, Dr. Zeira had been working on signal processing with applications to sonar, diagnostic ultrasound, radar and communications. She started her career in Rafael, Israel, and later became a post-doctoral fellow at the Yale School of Medicine, a Research Engineer at Signal Processing Technology and a Visiting Research Engineer at the University of California Davis. She is the author of more than 150 issued U.S. patents, 11 journal papers and more than 20 conference papers. Dr. Zeira received a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Tecnion, Israel Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. from Yale University, all in electrical engineering.
