KB Home Breaks New Ground in Live Oak

Built to Order™ builder to offer new homes along highly desirable Northeast Corridor

SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- KB Home (NYS: KBH) , one of the nation's largest and most recognized homebuilders, today announced it has acquired 34 acres of land along the IH-35 corridor northeast of San Antonio in Live Oak, Texas. Land development is currently underway for 172 homesites, which will comprise KB Home's new community, Ironwood at Crestway. Model homes showcasing the flexible floor plans and beautiful home designs available are scheduled to open to the public in June.

The land purchase for Ironwood at Crestway is the latest in a series of acquisitions of lots and land that KB Home has made in San Antonio submarkets over the past few months, including significant purchases in New Braunfels, Cibolo, and Converse. These build on KB Home's already strong presence in the area, with 25 communities currently open for new home sales.

"Choosing your community location is an important component of KB Home's Built to Order homebuying experience, and offering homes in Live Oak gives local homebuyers the option to live in one of San Antonio's most desirable submarkets," said Brett Dietz, KB Home's San Antonio division president. "Additionally, we believe homebuyers will find our new homes' high standard of energy efficiency, and the energy savings and sustainability advantages they can provide, especially appealing."

All KB homes sold in San Antonio are ENERGY STAR® and Build San Antonio Green® (BSAG) certified, meaning they are designed to be more sustainable than most other homes available in the area. The water- and energy-saving features built in to every new KB home also have the potential to help homeowners save money on their monthly utility bills.

In addition to the IH-35, KB Home's Ironwood at Crestway is also convenient to major roadways like Loops 1604 and 410, as well as to employers and nearby military bases Fort Sam Houston and Randolph AFB. Ironwood at Crestway will be served by the highly-rated North East Independent School District.

KB Home is planning to offer designs from its Sterling and Heritage home collections at Ironwood at Crestway, allowing home buyers to choose from 14 one- and two-story floor plans and home sizes between 1,515 and 2,960 square feet. KB Home is distinguished by its Built to Order approach that allows homebuyers to personalize their home to meet their unique style and taste, from number of bedrooms and baths, to décor choices like cabinetry, flooring and fixture styles.

KB Home's Ironwood at Crestway is scheduled to grand open in June. To join an interest list or learn more about it and other KB Home communities in San Antonio, visit www.kbhome.com or call 888-KB-HOMES.
