Wunderman Promotes Samardzija and Worboys

Move Supports New Data & Insights Division

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Wunderman has named Slavi Samardzija as chief analytics officer (CAO) and tapped Caroline Worboys to head the new Data & Insights Division of Wunderman in the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. These newly created positions build on the recent creation of Wunderman's Data & Insights Division in March as part of the agency's reorganization. Following a decade of growth, Wunderman restructured to increase the scope and momentum of network-wide initiatives.

Samardzija: Commitment to Customer Intelligence

Samardzija is currently executive vice president of the agency's Marketing Intelligence group, which encompasses a core analytics team rooted in Wunderman New York and at Texas-based subsidiary, KBM Group. With the added responsibility of leading Wunderman's analytics globally, Samardzija will establish new capabilities where needed and will manage existing capabilities across Wunderman's worldwide network, which includes approximately 500 analysts. This step enhances the company's ongoing commitment to deliver robust analytics and insightful customer intelligence to its clients as they strive to harness "big data" for digital and traditional marketing.

In his new role, Samardzija will create processes to align and share resources, develop and commercialize innovation, ensure best practices, direct delivery of analytics services and strategies to new and existing clients, and deliver consistently high-quality insights to global brands. He will remain in New York and report to Gary S. Laben, president of Data & Insights and CEO of KBM Group.

Worboys: Experienced Global Marketer

Worboys, currently managing director of KBM Group in the UK, will expand her responsibilities to be managing director of Wunderman Data & Insights, EMEA. As KBM Group's UK and regional lead, Caroline has established solid working relationships with Wunderman offices and data capabilities across Europe, including Benelux, the Czech Republic, the Nordic countries and France, which she will continue to build on. Her previous experience living in the Middle East will also serve her in good stead in her new position.

In her new role, Worboys will work with Wunderman regional and country managers to coordinate and direct delivery of KBM Group data assets and data management expertise and put processes in place for existing country capabilities to operate more cohesively. She will coordinate strategy and personnel for new business development and establish and mobilize hubs across the region as "centers of excellence" to deliver data, data management and data strategy. She'll also work closely with the Wunderman Data & Insights global team. Worboys will remain based in London with matrixed reporting in the UK market to Mel Cruickshank, CEO Wunderman UK. For regional EMEA matters Worboys will report to Laben.

"In an era of Big Data, Slavi and Caroline are both forward-thinking, dynamic leaders who will stimulate our data and analytics specialists across the world to bring our clients the most insightful data management and customer intelligence. This is critical to responding to clients' needs more quickly, more strategically and more comprehensively, and to fulfilling our vision for Wunderman across the globe. With Slavi and Caroline's leadership, we'll increase our edge in providing this capability," said Laben.
