Provo-Orem, Utah, Named Happiest City in America

The happiest city in America is officially Provo-Orem, Utah! Never heard of it? Well perhaps you should make a trip, because it beat out some of the more well-traveled hot spots.

'Now right behind it, here you go, Boulder, Colorado, Fort Collins-Loveland, Colorado, and Honolulu. A new poll looked at things such as jobs, health, safety. Provo-Orem residents were the most satisfied.'

HLN notes this is actually the second time the city has topped the list!

It has also been ranked the most religious by Gallup.

Denver's KMGH was especially pleased to see two of the cities on the happy list -- the two in Colorado, of course!

Business Insider says the Gallup team responsible for releasing data on the happiest states is also behind these recent stats on the happiest cities.

'Gallup ranked all 189 U.S. metro areas. It asked people to consider a set of six sub-indexes, which individually examine life evaluation, emotional health, work environment, physical health, healthy behaviors, and access to basic necessities.'

As for the cities at the bottom of the barrel in terms of well-being? Gallup notes Charleston, West Virginia and Mobile, Alabama are on that list.

Texas TV station KJAC wasn't too proud of its city's ranking.

'Beautmont-Port Arthur has made a list that's nothing to be proud of ... out of 189 cities on that survey, Beaumont is ranked 184th.'

So, if you're still searching for your "happy place"... you might be movin' to Utah!
