It's bad enough to have your car catch on fire... but now imagine your burning car is surrounded by lions. Sounds like something right out of a Hollywood movie, right?

Well, this was no movie. It happened to a family visiting a safari park in London. Helen Clements was with her two children in the lion enclosure when their car overheated and burst into flames.
Her first instinct was to hop out and get her kids out of the burning death trap, but park rangers yelled at them to get back in the car.

Fortunately, the rangers were able to quickly run to the family and rescue them from the flames and the felines without anyone getting hurt. Clements told KATU it was scary at the time, but now she's able to laugh about it. "I think if it was near the flamingos we wouldn't have had the problem. But no it had to be in the lion enclosure."

But even when safari goers avoid any technical problems on the adventure - things can still take a scary turn when there's wild animals involved.

Last year in South Africa an elephant overturned a vehicle carrying two tourists, and injured both. And just a few months later an entire pack of elephants charged one safari tour guide and rammed his car.
