China builds world's fastest elevator
China holds the record for the largest population and of course longest wall and now they're about to break another record.
A skyscraper in the country's southern city of Guangzhou is getting the world's fastest elevator - able to shoot up 95 floors in just 43 seconds.
The lightning-speed elevator is set to be installed in an under-construction finance center which will house a hotel, offices, and residential space.
So, 95 floors in 43 seconds...Just how fast is that? The elevator's designer, Hitachi, announced that the high-speed elevators will travel at a speed of 45mph.
The new elevators will break the current elevator speed record held by a skyscraper in Taiwan that travels 38mph.
