Woman's husband says she's 'even more gorgeous' after ambush makeover

Kathie Lee and Hoda were up to their usual Thursday shenanigans. They sent their ambush makeover team to find two lucky ladies in the crowd outside.

We're focusing on Shirley from Texas. She's 71 years old, although she certainly doesn't look it. Before, she had sandy blonde, shoulder-length hair.

"Lord! Even more gorgeous!" her husband Bill said.

Shirley's reaction? "Oh, my word!"

As you can see, they shortened her hair and dyed it a beautiful coppery brownish red color. The stylists layered it -- and look at that sassy red lipstick!

Shirley's husband, Bill, said she deserved the makeover because she's a four-year breast cancer survivor. They were also in the Big Apple to celebrate their 53rd wedding anniversary. Aww.

"Kathie Lee & Hoda" posted the cute makeover on its Facebook page. One commenter said Bill and Shirley are the cutest couple. Another called the makeovers "fabulous."

Shirley can show off her new look at the four dance clubs she and her husband are part of back in Texas.
