Demi Lovato explains relationship with Miley Cyrus

Demi Lovato admitted her friendship with Miley Cyrus has changed drastically.

22-year-old Lovato called in to the TJ show on Boston's 103.3 AMP RADIO -- and when a fan asked her about the "Wrecking Ball" singer, Demi gives a jaw-dropping answer.

The fan asked, "I'm a big fan of you and Miley Cyrus so I'm just wondering what your relationship with her is like?"

"Um...yeah...that, um...we're...we...we're like acquaintances," Demi responded.

Demi clearly chose her words carefully, which is surprising since the pair were both Disney darlings back in the day.

After Miley got flack for her edgy transformation, Lovato publicly defended the tongue-flashing celeb, saying, "I'm so happy for her. She's doing what she wants to do, and this is her time to break out."

While the two are no longer BFFs, Demi is still supportive.

"It's life and people change and, you know, I don't have anything in common with her anymore, and I wish her all the best," she added.
