Sneak Peek: Lifetime's 'The Red Tent' shows sacrifice and passion

Lifetime is taking Anita Diamant's best-selling novel "The Red Tent" to the small screen.

The new mini-series of the same name promises a spellbinding tale that takes place during the times of the Old Testament, told through the eyes of Dinah, the daughter of Leah and Jacob.

In an exclusive trailer for AOL, we get a sneak peek at how Dinah's journey [Rebecca Ferguson] begins and how she discovers her own path.

The riveting sneak peek begins with a shot of Dinah, covered in blood and being presented to her family. The short clip weaves through flashbacks of her life under the red tent, where we learn that Dinah became involved in a passionate love affair, which was ripped away from her and changed her family's fate forever.

"The Red Tent" looks like it will have plenty of drama, desire and struggle as Dinah navigates the difficult road of womanhood in ancient times.

Morena Baccarin, Minnie Driver, Iain Glen and Will Tudor round out the star-packed cast.

"The Red Tent" premieres on December 7 and December 8 at 9/8c on Lifetime.
