Strip Club Wins Best Christmas Lights Display, Cash Prize From City

FEDERAL HEIGHTS, Colo. - A business won a cash prize from the city of Federal Heights for its festive holiday display. What causes an eyebrow to raise is the fact that the winning business is a strip club.

Some people might question it. The cash prize to a strip club, that is.

But the club points out that it is a legitimate business like any other in Federal Heights. And, after all, fair is fair. The business with the best lighting display wins the award.

If you see it, you can't question the Christmas spirit at the Platinum 84 Gentleman's Club. "It's a festive mood," one observer of the Christmas lights says.

The mayor present club operators the award which is proudly displayed inside the front door. "We knew there was competition so everyone was very excited."

Patrons love the lights. "I think it's great," one said. "Yeah, I think it's great. They did a nice job and it makes you feel better when you come here," another said.

The club donated the prize money to a Christmas toys for kids program that's run by a local police officer.

"We had before raised about $1,200 for them "twerking for tots," so we gave the $100 prize money we won to that fund to buy more gifts."

Christmas lights can be an addictive thing, as many homeowners will say. The club is already saying next year's display will be bigger with even more lights.
