Homeless woman reunited with dogs, gets new home after outpouring of support

A homeless woman in Arlington Heights who was separated from her dogs is getting her pets back – and a lot more – thanks to the kindness of others, WGNtv reports.

Linda Anderson thought the day would never come.

She was finally reunited with her two dogs Teddy the lovable Akita shepherd mix and her little Westy, Ladybug on Thursday.

People came to Anderson's rescue after seeing video of the homeless woman and her boyfriend, Steve, living in a cold Arlington Heights tent in the woods, unable to care for herself or her pets with money from her part-time grocery store job.

Jeff Fannon, CEO of Zeman Homes, an owner-operator of mobile home communities offered to help.

Zeman Homes employees Laura Napoles and Eduardo Uribe started collecting pots, pans, linens and other housewares.

Zeman employees also helped paint and refurbished the home in an unnamed northwest suburb.

And later Thursday, Anderson and her dogs will move into their new mobile home.

Donations are still being collected for Anderson and his pet.
