MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (KDVR) - Joy Son of Minneapolis thought she was just taking a picture of the Christmas decorations in St. Paul. Little did she know, she had captured the most important day of one couple's life.

Son said that she didn't bother looking below the treetops until someone nearby whispered that there was a proposal going on.

"I tried to zoom in to snap a picture, but by then it was too late and I ended up taking a picture of them after they stood up," she said. "I was pretty bummed that I didn't get a picture of them and got over it until I was scrolling through my camera roll at a restaurant we went to afterwards and found a picture of them!"

The image went viral Friday after she posted it on Instagram. And once again, the internet was successful in finding the couple.

A friend of the newly engaged woman saw the photo in the Star Tribune newspaper and passed it along.

Stephanie Yarian, 22, is from Colorado but attends the University of Northwestern in St. Paul, where she met her fiancé Luke.
