While fans had a chance to collect their breath in the pre-Super Bowl bye week, there was still plenty of sports action to be had.

Hockey's brightest stars showed that defense is overrated in the highest-scoring NHL All-Star Game ever, while the NFL Pro Bowl was a far more competitive contest than in recent seasons.

Down under, the Australian Open featured a series of riveting upsets, but the best sports play of the week belonged to another Kangaroo, Australian soccer star Tim Cahill, who buried a remarkable bicycle kick in Asian Cup play.
