Jeb Bush: I Smoked Marijuana

He was a joker, a smoker, a midnight toker, and now he's considering a presidential run.

The Boston Globe is helping Jeb Bush air out some dirty laundry. In a recent interview the former Florida governor admitted to indulging in some illegal activities as a teen at Andover - the all-male boarding school in Massachusetts that both his brother and father attended.

He said, "I drank alcohol and I smoked marijuana when I was at Andover. It was pretty common."

A former friend recalled the first time he ever got stoned in Jeb's room: "He had a portable stereo with removable speakers. He put on Steppenwolf for me." Yup. That sounds about right.

His less than stellar record at the elite school is nothing new. He was almost expelled for poor grades and said his experience there was one of the most difficult times of his life. But according to the Globe, he didn't make it easy for others either.

Classmates viewed him as a bully. A former dorm mate told the paper Bush created a "Lord of the Flies" atmosphere, saying, "Jeb Bush was large, physically imposing, and traveled in a crowd that was I guess somewhat threatening to an outsider like myself."

Again, not something entirely new. In a 2013 interview with the Miami Herald, he actually called himself a, "cynical little turd in a cynical school" when talking about his days at Andover.

His mother Barbara told the paper: "If he has a fault, he's too honest."
