Jennifer Lawrence and David O Russell Caught in Mega Fight on Set

Jennifer Lawrence was spotted in a screaming match with director David O. Russell in Boston this week on the set of their latest movie, 'Joy'.TMZ reported that an argument broke out between the two because J-Law was unhappy with how Russell was directing a scene. Eyewitnesses claim Russell came at her with "ear-piercing screams laced with profanities."

That was not the case, says Fox. Their reps say the fight was method acting and that Russell was prepping Lawrence for an upcoming scene.

This isn't the first time the pair have worked together. Russell directed Lawrence's Oscar-winning performance in "Silver Linings Playbook" as well as "American Hustle."

Now, Russell is no stranger to on-set fighting. He's actually earned a reputation in Hollywood for being a brute to work with.

One of the most famous on-set throwdowns in movie history involved the director and George Clooney on the set of 'Three Kings'. The two got into it when Clooney stepped in to defend another actor, allegedly causing Russell to explode and grab Clooney by the neck.

The director also made headlines after an incident with Lily Tomlin during the filming of "I Heart Huckabees." He was caught on camera having a full-scale tantrum: sweeping props off a desk and kicking a wastebasket.

Russell's latest flick, "Joy," is already getting Oscar buzz. It's slated to hit theaters Christmas Day.
