Beauty has her Beast: Emma Watson's co-star announced

Updated

It's official: Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast remake is going to be absolutely incredible. Emma Watson, everyone's favorite Hogwarts-Witch-turned-Disney-Princess, has found her co-star and Beast, Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens!

Stevens and Emma both tweeted excitedly about the news, with Stevens showing that he's already getting in character by posting a photo reading "BEAST MODE".

Emma showed her approval of her chosen co-star by posting this:

Seems pretty fitting that Dan will go from being Lord Grantham's heir to the castle that is Downton Abbey to being a Prince with his very own (albeit sometimes dark and dreary) castle in Disney's upcoming film, don't you think?

News also broke today that the film's villain Gaston will be played by Luke Evans, star of The Hobbit films and Dracula Untold. Evans reportedly snatched up the role this week when Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne passed on playing Gaston himself. (But could anyone really, truly see Eddie as a villain? We think we love him too much!)

What do you think of Dan Stevens and Luke Evans in their new roles? There's rumor that Emma Thompson is considering the role of Mrs. Potts, and that Timothy Spall may play Maurice. Either way, it's shaping up to be a star-studded cast!
