Homes near Starbucks have higher property values
SEATTLE, Wash. - Starbucks does more than just give customers their daily caffeine.
A new study finds the value of homes located within a quarter mile of Starbucks rise faster than other homes.
The real estate research group Zillow studied house values between 1997 and 2013.
It found houses closer to Starbucks increased in worth by 96 percent.
That's more than the 65 percent rise all US homes saw.
Zillow reports a new Starbucks gives developers a sense that a neighborhood is on the rise.
