Why You Shouldn't Call Ashley Graham 'Plus-Size'

Model and activist Ashley Graham recently gave a TED talk titled, 'Plus Size? More Like My Size' in Valencia, Spain.

Graham last made headlines when she became the first plus-size model to grace the pages of Sports Illustrated's annual swimsuit issue. Unfortunately, she was presented in an ad, and not in a feature or on the cover.

Today, she is continuing to spread her message of self love and body positivity.

The TED talk began with Graham standing in front of a full-length mirror, saying, "You are bold, you are brilliant, and you are beautiful. There is no other woman like you. You are capable."

After that, she lovingly surveyed every inch of her body and said:

"Back fat? I see you popping over my bra today, but that's alright I'm going to choose to love you. And think thighs? You are just so sexy you can't stop rubbing each other. That's alright. I'm going to keep you. And cellulite, I have not forgotten about you. I'm going to choose to love you even though you want to take over my whole bottom half. You're a part of me and I love you."

She then spoke of her struggles growing up in an industry that made her hate what she saw in the mirror.

Thankfully, she had a strong role model in her life; her mother. She chose to look up to her instead of Jennifer Lopez. She knew she had a greater purpose to redefine beauty.

Take after Graham and #DropThePlus.

"Be you. Be real. Be authentic. Be your favorite kind of woman."

She's our #WCW every day.
