'Bachelorette' favorite has epic breakdown after elimination

A "Bachelorette" fan favorite was forced to say goodbye during Monday night's episode.

And even more sad than that was the way he reacted to Kaitlyn's decision to eliminate him.

"This is the hardest thing, like, so far for me right now, in this moment, is to say bye to you," said Kaitlyn on "The Bachelorette."

"It's okay. I didn't think I was going to cry," Chris sobbed.

The contestant who became fondly known as Chris "Cupcake" this season has been booted from the competition.

Chris and Kaitlyn were on a date on the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland when she admitted she really likes him, but she feels like her heart is elsewhere.

And needless to say, the poor guy took the rejection pretty hard. Hey, we would too if the love of our life flew away in a helicopter and left us stranded on a cliff.

A writer for E! couldn't even handle the sadness here. "That was how the episode ended, with Cupcake Chris crying on a cliff, after a whole episode of tears. ... We feel bad for everyone involved, including ourselves."

But as People points out, there's still hope for Chris' journey to find love.

"Cupcake, we hardly knew ye. May you shine your brilliant, straight white teeth at 25 women as next year's Bachelor, if they want you and if you so choose."

And even if he doesn't become the next "Bachelor," Chris seems to be doing pretty well these days.

Judging from his Instagram page, he's been spending a lot of quality time with his parents and even hit up CMA Fest in Nashville with former "Bachelorette" castmate Shawn.
