The Journey

The USO recognizes all that our troops and their families do to protect the freedoms we, as Americans, enjoy daily.

For nearly 75 years, the USO has been the only nonprofit organization committed to supporting the men and women of the U.S. military and their families from the moment they join, throughout their service and as they transition back into their civilian lives. Their mission is to lift the spirits of America's troops and families.

With special emphasis on those who need it most, the USO supports our nation's forward-deployed troops, military families, wounded, ill and injured troops, their families and caregivers; troops in transition and families of the fallen.

The USO provides programs, entertainment and services at more than 160 USO locations worldwide, including Afghanistan, Kuwait, Germany, Italy, Japan, Guam, Djibouti and the United States. In 2014, troops and their families visited USO centers more than 7 million times.
