Good news, coffee lovers: This summer just got a whole lot cooler and more caffeinated.

Starbucks has officially added its Cold Brew coffee to menus in Canada and the U.S. -- permanently.

"Cold Brew" doesn't mean hot coffee poured over ice -- that would just be iced coffee.

Cold Brew means the roast is soaked in cold, filtered water for between 12 and 20 hours. Fans of the drink say the process turns out a smoother and sweeter drink than plain old iced coffee.

As always, though, time is money, so you'll have to shell out a little more: 16 oz will run you $3.25, according to USA Today. That's 60 cents more than similarly sized iced coffee.

You may have to get up early to get the good stuff, too. Starbucks says they can only produce about 50 to 60 cups per day at each location.
