'The Bachelorette' Finale: Kaitlyn Bristowe gets engaged

After a turbulent season of The Bachelorette, Kaitlyn Bristowe has made it to her final rose ceremony.
The episode began with Nick meeting Kaitlyn's family. Kaitlyn's mom said she was "totally shocked" to learn that Nick was one of Kaitlyn's final two guys, given that she didn't have a good impression of him from Andi Dorfman's season. However, with Kaitlyn imploring her mom to keep an open mind, she came around, calling him a "teddy bear" and giving him her approval.
Shawn also got to meet the family, with Kaitlyn's mom worried about how he handles jealousy and wanting to hear how he dealt with the news that Kaitlyn had slept with Nick.

Each guy got a final date with Kaitlyn. She and Nick went boating, and he gave her a scrapbook with a photo from their first date. Shawn and Kaitlyn shared time on the couch, and Shawn's gift was a "memory jar," which is apparently a thing. Kaitlyn said she felt that she and Shawn have more memories than a couple that's been together for a year. If you say so, Kaitlyn.
At the mansion, Kaitlyn spoke to Nick, who told her he was in love with her. He started to get on his knee to propose, but Kaitlyn stopped him. "The only explanation I have is that my heart is with somebody else," she said. She claimed that she had been in love with Nick, but Nick bristled and said he didn't buy it. In the limo, he dramatically took off the ring from their vacation and threw it to the other side of the vehicle. "I'm the world's biggest joke," he told the camera.
Next was Shawn's turn, where he called her "the most incredible woman I have ever met in my entire life." She admitted that she had made mistakes in the journey but called herself "completely yours." Shawn got down on one knee and proposed to Kaitlyn, who said yes. The couple then proudly told the camera that they are both in love.
