A pair of shoes you only wore once five years ago and haven't put them on your feet since? — Many of us would just get rid of them, but Lady Gaga? She spends almost $300,000 to get them back.

When designer Alexander McQueen's Armadillo boots walked the runway for his Spring/Summer 2010 show, they became one of the most talked-about shoes in fashion -- appearing on magazine covers and most famously on Lady Gaga in both her Bad Romance video and on the 2010 MTV VMAs red carpet.

But even though Lady Gaga wore them, she never actually owned them — until now.

Gaga revealed on Instagram she is the new owner of three pairs of the boots which were auctioned off by Christies to raise money for UNICEF's relief effort in Nepal. Even though the boots were estimated to go for between $10,000 and $15,000 a pair, all three ended up fetching a whopping $295,000 total.

Gaga posted these photos to Instagram trying on one pair she calls a gift from heaven, another cradling the footwear, writing long live McQueen, and demonstrating how she plans to take care of the boots — storing them under a glass dome so they can "live protected and happy."
