You know that old saying 'if you don't have anything nice to say, sit next to me'. Joan Rivers was never one to mince words - the comedy legend always spoke her mind - and for that we are eternally grateful because she always made us laugh.

While we mark the first anniversary of Joan's passing, it only seems natural to remember Joan for her wit, humor and candor.

1. Worst Red Carpet Interview EVER

It's considered a major no-no to dish on the people you've interviewed - unless you're Joan. The comedian and her red carpet co-host daughter Melissa Rivers didn't hesitate to call out Tommy Lee Jones for being a di**.

2. Celebrity Targets

Joan was fully in her element when it came to one-liners about celebs. No one was safe. But - really - if you're famous enough to get made fun of by Joan Rivers. You're famous enough.

3. Melissa's House

Not even her precious only child was safe from Joan's antics. Frankly, Melissa probably got the brunt of them - especially when Joan moved in and hated her house.

4. Fox & Former Friends

Joan and Melissa famously got banned from "Fox & Friends" over a Sarah Palin crack. We could only imagine the field day she'd be having right now with GOP hair icon and her former "Celebrity Apprentice" co-star Donald Trump.

5. Bad Ass

At the end of the day Joan Rivers remains one of the funniest human beings to ever walk this fine earth. She lived to make people laugh and if you tool that personally or too seriously you get this.
