LitWorld is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that empowers young people to author lives of independence, hope and joy. Children who can read at grade level by third grade are four times more likely to graduate from high school.

LitWorld programs use the strength of children's own stories as the building blocks for literacy and resilience. By filling pivotal out of school time with joyful learning that feels authentic and personally meaningful to each child, LitWorld is cultivating a generation of active readers, writers and leaders who are fully ready for the future.

The story of LitWorld is best told by the children from our programs across the United States and around the world. Children's stories remind us that literacy is about much more than putting words on a page or screen. It is about gaining access to new possibilities and using knowledge to strive for our goals and bring new layers of meaning into our lives.

The ability to read and write gives all of us a deeper sense of our own humanity and the humanity of others, for it is above all about understanding and navigating the world with confidence.

Spread the word! Share this to champion LitWorld's great work.
