Police Alert Parents To New Street Drug Tablets That Look A Lot Like Candy

With Halloween just around the corner, it is important to remember that not all brightly colored, fun-shaped edibles are candy.

Police in Jackson, Mississippi recently issued a warning to parents concerning new Ecstasy tablets that could easily be mistaken for holiday treats.

On Monday, they posted an image of the drugs' various designs on their Facebook pagewith the message, "If your kids get these for Halloween candy, they ARE NOT CANDY!!!
They are the new shapes of 'Ecstasy' and can kill kids through overdoses!!!"

They further advise, "When in doubt, Throw it out!!!"

Though the announcement was posted to the Jackson Police Department page, an officer noted the danger is one that exists nationwide.
