Hugh Jackman had another skin cancer scare and posted an Instagram message to fans on Monday to raise awareness about the disease.

"An example of what happens when you don't wear sunscreen," the 47-year-old actor captioned a selfie, which included his bandaged nose. "Basal Cell. The mildest form of cancer but serious, nonetheless. PLEASE USE SUNSCREEN and get regular check-ups."

This is not the first time Jackman has been treated for skin cancer. He revealed to People last May that since 2013, he's had four procedures to remove cancerous cells, and he has posted about several of them on social media.

"Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked," Jackman wrote on another Instagram pic in November 2013 after his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, talked him into getting a checkup. "Boy, was she right! I had a basil [sic] cell carcinoma. Please don't be foolish like me. Get yourself checked. And USE sunscreen!!!"

The actor had another basal cell carcinoma removed in May 2014, causing him to do several press events for X-Men: Days of Future Past with a bandage on his nose.

Since his first diagnosis, the Eddie the Eagle star has launched a line of sunscreen for kids and is actively working to raise awareness about skin cancer prevention and diagnosis.

"I go every three months for checkups," he told People. "It's the new normal for me. My doctor says I'll likely have more and if that's your cross to bear in life, you should be so lucky."
