Harvey Weinstein and ex Georgina Chapman reach divorce settlement

Updated

Harvey Weinstein and his soon-to-be ex-wife Georgina Chapman have reportedly reached a divorce settlement -- and the Marchesa designer is getting a massive, eight-figure payout.

Page Six first reported on Wednesday that Weinstein and Chapman signed the settlement at the end of last year, and it's estimated to be worth between $15 million and $20 million, with paperwork to be filed in the immediate future.

The settlement far exceeds previous estimates from December, which predicted that Chapman would walk away with around $12 million. The Marchesa designer is already worth a reported $20 million on her own, while Weinstein's net-worth is about $250 million, though -- as Page Six notes -- the disgraced film producer has been "spending millions" on lawyers, private investigators and publicists in the past several months.

According to the source, the former couple's settlement process "nearly collapsed," meaning they narrowly avoided having to publicly file for divorce. And, with both Weinstein and Chapman maintaining extremely low profiles since October, a public divorce is presumably something neither party was interested in.

Chapman initially announced that she was leaving her husband back in October after an explosive New York Times report exposed his reported decades of sexual abuse and misconduct. Since then, nearly 100 women have accused him of varied sexual misconduct through the years.

While Chapman remains hard at work preparing for her Marchesa show at New York Fashion Week in February, Weinstein continues to reportedly seek treatment for sex addiction in Arizona.

On Tuesday night, Weinstein was attacked by a stranger while leaving a restaurant in Scottsdale. Watch footage of the incident here.
