Meghan Markle's peculiar Christmas gift to the queen left her in hysterics

What do you gift to someone who already has everything and just so happens to be the Queen of England? A singing hamster, of course.

For her first Christmas with the royal family, Meghan Markle reportedly gifted Queen Elizabeth a toy hamster that bursts into song when you pull "its rope." According to multiple reports, her majesty "burst out laughing" at the peculiar gift.

The Daily Mail reported, 'It was so funny, especially when the corgis tried to take hold of the toy. She (the Queen) laughed and said ''they can keep my dogs company!''' Such a custom during the holidays is upheld by the royal family, who often exchanges cheeky gifts instead of expensive items.

In the past, the family has exchanged shower caps and a "white leather toilet seat," which Prince Charles still travels with.

It seems that Meghan is off to an impressive start. She spent Christmas with the royal family at Sandringham House, Queen Elizabeth's private estate in Norfolk. It was an opportunity Duchess Kate didn't have until after she was already married.

On Tuesday, Meghan and Prince Harry embarked on their second public outing since announcing their engagement. The couple visited a London radio station and made their way through the crowds hand-in-hand.
