President Trump only eats the pink and red Starbursts

Updated

Not even President Trump is immune to everyone's favorite Starburst flavor.

According to The Washington Post, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy recently gifted POTUS a jar filled with his favorite flavors of the beloved candy: pink and red. McCarthy noticed the president's affinity for the fruit chews while in the presidential suite on Air Force One in October.

"We’re there, having a little dessert, and he offers me some," said McCarthy in an interview. "Just the red and the pink. A bit later, a couple of his aides saw me with those colors and told me, ‘Those are the president’s favorites.’ ”

Reveals reports, McCarthy had a "staffer" sort through packages of the candy and place the strawberry and cherry-flavored chews in the jar.

"McCarthy made sure his name was on the side of the gift, which was delivered to a grinning Trump, according to a White House official," wrote the Washington Post. According to numerous reports, other lawmakers are concerned with McCarthy's "cozying up" to Trump and the repercussions it may yield.

The report comes weeks after the release of Michael Wolff's controversial and scathing book on life inside the White House. One of the author's anecdotes describes Trump's love for "binging on cheeseburgers" in bed. Wolff has credited President Trump's longtime love of fast food to his longtime fear of being poisoned.

We're saving McCarthy's intern (and you guys!) the trouble of sifting through boxes upon boxes in search for the pink only candy. Amazon sells pink-only Starburst packages for even the pickiest of candy lovers.
