19-year-old who died after motorcycle crash in Wallhaven Sunday identified

A 19-year-old Akron man was killed Sunday night after his Yamaha motorcycle struck a minivan in Wallhaven, according to Akron police.

At about 10:20 p.m., Jexsavith Cerriteno was traveling south on South Hawkins Avenue. A Toyota Sienna was heading east on Edgemoor Avenue and made a left turn onto South Hawkins, causing the motorcycle to hit the van. Cerriteno was ejected and sustained critical injuries. He was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General where he died about an hour later. Police said he was a wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The 50-year-old woman driving the Toyota and her 15-year-old passenger were not injured.

Authorities are unsure if speed was a factor in the crash, however, alcohol was determined not to be a factor.
