23-year-old man charged in June 13 Sherbondy Hill homicide in Akron

Akron police arrested a 23-year-old man Tuesday who was wanted in a June 13 homicide in Sherbondy Hill.

Kato Yanzanes was apprehended as a suspect in the murder of 38-year-old Brandon Daniels, whom Akron police determined was shot in the 900 block of Snyder Street before later crashing his car into a pole in the 600 block of West Thornton Street. Daniels was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General, where he eventually died.

Police said they interviewed neighbors and gathered evidence before determining Yanzanes was involved in an ongoing dispute with Daniels throughout the day of the shooting. The suspect was transported to Summit County Jail and charged with murder.
