27-year-old Milladore man dies in Portage County motorcycle crash Wednesday morning

CARSON − A 27-year-old Milladore man is dead after a single-vehicle motorcycle crash early Wednesday morning in Portage County.

According to a news release from the Portage County Sheriff's Office, an Alliant Energy worker was investigating a power outage about 1 a.m. Wednesday that happened about an hour earlier when they discovered the motorcycle crash involving a utility pole along Portage County G, north of Oriole Road, in the town of Carson.

Portage County Sheriff's deputies and emergency units from several agencies responded to the scene. The initial investigation shows that the Milladore man was driving south on Portage County G. He was negotiating a curve near Oriole Road when the motorcycle left the right edge of the road, entered the west ditch and hit the utility pole. The driver, who was the only person riding the motorcycle, was ejected. He was determined to be dead at the scene. The driver was not wearing a helmet.

The crash remains under investigation. The Portage County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Rudolph Fire/Rescue and Emergency Medical Responders, Portage County Ambulance, Portage County Medical Examiner and the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
