33-year-old man killed outside of hookah lounge near UA Saturday identified

The 33-year-old male who was killed early Saturday morning outside of the Exhale Hookah Lounge in Akron has been identified by the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office as Kenneth Gay.

Officers originally responded to the 500 block of East Exchange Street at about 2:16 a.m. after receiving multiple calls about a man being shot outside. Upon arrival, Gay was found outside of the lounge with apparent gunshot wounds, police said. EMS was called, and Gay was subsequently pronounced dead on the scene.

Most of the lounge's patrons left before officers arrived on the scene, police reported. The shooting is still under investigation.
