Children must be present to collect a backpack equipped with school supplies, which are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries' backpack giveaway

Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries is giving out hundreds of backpacks to children in their family shelters and in the community through August and September, so the organization is looking for backpack donations. Items can be dropped off at their administration office at 150 Stimson St. in Detroit from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, or items can be purchased and sent to the office from their Amazon wishlist.
