Akron-Canton Airport adds direct flight to Sarasota, Florida, through Breeze Airways

Passengers flying through the Akron-Canton Airport will now have a new destination to choose from.

Starting Nov. 20, people will be able to take a direct flight to Sarasota/Bradenton, Florida, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, Breeze Airways said in a news release.

“CAK and the Northeast Ohio community are incredibly thankful for Breeze Airways' continued route expansion in our market,” said Lisa Dalpiaz, vice president of air service and business development at Akron-Canton Airport. “Sarasota is a top destination from our region, and we’re confident travelers will be delighted with additional nonstop options paired with an easy, quick airport experience."

“We’re thrilled that Akron-Canton has been such a successful market for us and we continue to see more opportunities for growth,” said David Neeleman, Breeze Airways’ Founder and CEO. “For our Ohio Guests looking for another great warm weather destination this winter, Sarasota/Bradenton offers amazing beaches and much more.”

Breeze Airways began service in May 2021 and is now the airport's largest carrier, transporting more than a third of the passengers who come through the airport.

Breeze currently has 10 nonstop flights out of the airport, some of which are seasonal.

The airline added a nonstop flight to Los Angeles in May.
