Follow along as Council Rock Newtown chases Little League World Series championship

It's been more than 60 years since Bucks County has had a team win the Little League World Series, dating back to 1960 when a Levittown team won it all.

Council Rock Newtown, riding an undefeated streak through districts, sectionals, states and regionals and a come back victory Saturday night after a tough loss in the opening round in Williamsport, will try to end that 63-year absence as the squad continues play in the Little League World Series on Sunday afternoon, airing live on 6ABC at 1 p.m.

The team of 12 year olds wowed crowds back in Bucks County and around the nation Saturday with their 5-0 win over the Salem, New Hampshire team. Manager Brad Hamilton talked to his team before they took the field and changed his pre-game speech a bit after the tough loss Thursday night.

"This is what we do, we play baseball," he said Saturday at a post-game press conference in Williamsport. "You learn to bounce back in situations like this, pick yourself up. I told them, 'You know what to do. This is your time .. Let's go play Newtown baseball."

Pitching and defense carried them through. Pitcher Tyler Neeld said he was happy and excited to get the ball to start the game.

"I knew I was going to throw strikes and my defense had my back," he said.

And the bats were working too Saturday. Gavin Caudill got a double in what was called the "hit of the game."

"It just pumped up the team, the crowd and everybody," he said. "It made me feel good. It felt good coming off the bat, having a good at bat .. It pumped up everybody."
