Shoppers, the wait is over in Middletown.
Amazon Fresh will open its latest Bucks County location today with the same expected fanfare as its Bensalem store last month.
After two years of starts, stops, and persistent rumors, the much ballyhooed high-tech supermarket has scheduled the grand opening of its Middletown store for Sept. 26.
The Middletown store off Lincoln Highway is the third Amazon Fresh in Bucks County, and the fourth in Pennsylvania.

What can Amazon Fresh shoppers expect at the Grand Opening in Langhorne
The grand opening for the 44,500 square foot Middletown store is slated for 8 a.m. with a 7:45 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony. The store is located in the Lincoln Plaza shopping center, 2424 Lincoln Highway near the Oxford Valley Mall.
The grand opening celebration will include Amazon gift cards for the first 100 customers in line, free "exclusive" Oxford Valley totes, a chance to win $500 in groceries, and a $5 off $25 coupon at the store.
At its Bensalem store grand opening last month, the company made a $10,000 donation to the Philabundance Food Bank, where stores also donate surplus food from its Fresh stores.
Why all the excitement about a new Amazon Fresh grocery store?
The store opening delays in Bensalem and Middletown fueled online rumors that Amazon had bailed on the townships leaving behind a so-called zombie store.
The stores sat almost completed for nearly two years with no indication on when it would open, joining other planned Amazon Fresh stores across the country that were built, near completion and never opened.
In February, however, Amazon CEO said during an earnings call the company was not abandoning its Amazon Fresh concept.
In recent months, Amazon had provided hints suggesting that the Middletown store was inching toward opening.
For the first time the company earlier this year advertised Grocery Associate openings at the Middletown location. Typically the first sign of an impending opening is when job openings are posted.
Where are the other Amazon Fresh stores in Bucks County
The first Fresh store opened in August 2021 in the Creekview Center in Warrington.
The Brookwood Shopping Center location, on Street Road in the old K-Mart, in Bensalem opened its doors to the public Aug, 22, nearly two years later than its scheduled late 2022 opening.
