Circuit Court Clerk Rex Lynch presented a resolution by the commission May 20. According to a news release, it read in part:

“Judge Elrod is a lifelong Clinton resident and well-known attorney with a compassion for serving the children and families of Anderson County, a legal acumen with nearly two decades of Juvenile Court experience. The decision to appoint Judge Elrod has proven to be an excellent choice and seamless transition including countless compliments from court staff and the families who were served. ... Judge Elrod is a true philanthropist always supporting his community by generous donations to charities, schools and his unwavering support of high school athletics and the annual Anderson County Foster Care Christmas party.”

Hunt last summer announced his deployment to Africa.
