B.F. Jones Memorial Library to host free flu shot clinic and health screenings

The B.F. Jones Memorial Library will use a new $10,000 grant to fund several accessibility projects at the public space.

ALIQUIPPA - City residents will have access to a flu shot clinic and several health screening options at a local library in early November.

Officials from B.F. Jones Library and UPMC announced they will host a pop-up clinic from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 9. Library visitors can receive walk-in appointments for free flu shots and several health screenings for legal adults, including tests for blood pressure, cholesterol and bone density.

According to the clinic organizers, flu shots will be available for all adults and children ages 5 to 17. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to receive a flu shot. While insurance under the UPMC Health Plan is not required for participants, visitors are encouraged to bring their insurance cards to the clinic.

Residents with questions about the health screenings can call B.F. Jones Memorial Library at 724-375-2900 for more information.
