Bellingham’s iconic Acid Ball will be lit up for a psych-rock music festival

Bellingham’s iconic acid ball will be glowing next weekend during Kulshan Brewing’s Acid Ball Psych Rock Music Fest on Saturday, Aug. 3.

The third annual “mind-expanding journey” will feature five artists at Kulshan’s Trackside Beer Garden, including headliner Frankie and the Witch Fingers, an Los Angeles-based rock band, according to a news release from Kulshan.

“Join us for a journey beyond the ordinary with the groovy rhythms and psychedelic sounds of the Acid Ball Psych Rock Music Festival! Don’t miss out on this extraordinary event,” the news release states.

Other artists include:

Jimmy James & the Sure Things, a soul and classic rock band

Emi Pop, a “haunting” and “dreamy” singer, according to the news release

Lorbo, a jazz fusion band

The Groovy Nobodys, a groovy eclectic rhythm group

“The festival is set against the iconic Acid Ball, a must-see piece of Bellingham’s history. This spherical structure, a remnant of the city’s industrial past, will be lit up to create a surreal backdrop for the festival, enhancing the psychedelic experience,” the news release states.

The festival is open for all ages and starts at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3. Tickets cost $15 per person online or $20 at the door, and admission for children 12 and under is free.

Kulshan Trackside Beer Garden is at 298 West Laurel St. in Bellingham.
