Blake Lively Spotted at Taylor Swift's Rhode Island Mansion Amid 'It Ends With Us' Controversy
As Blake Lively continues to face backlash for her actions throughout promotions for her new film It Ends With Us, among other things, the actress was spotted enjoying some relaxing time with her husband Ryan Reynolds at Taylor Swift's Rhode Island mansion.
On Saturday, Aug. 24, Lively was photographed sharing a kiss with Reynolds outside Swift's home, where the singer, her boyfriend Travis Kelce and others gathered for a pool party. In the photos, Lively wore an orange bikini top and patterned shorts, while Reynolds donned a pink button-up shirt and a baseball cap.
Lively's appearance in Rhode Island comes as she faces intense criticism over past actions in interviews and throughout the promotional period for It Ends With Us, a film that deals with domestic violence.
Initially, there were reports of a feud between Lively and her co-star/the movie's director, Justin Baldoni. A 2016 interview next resurfaced that reportedly had Norwegian reporter Kjersti Flaa considering quitting her job.
In the interview, Flaa congratulated Lively on her "little bump" months after she revealed her pregnancy, only for the actress to say the same to Flaa, who did not appear to be pregnant at the time.
Since then, more questionable interview moments have gained attention, as well as the way Lively seemingly avoided seriously addressing the domestic violence aspect of It Ends With Us despite being asked about it in interviews.
Fans have also criticized her for promoting her new hair care line, Blake Brown, and her drink company, Betty Buzz, during the movie promos, even serving drinks named after aspects of the film. Others took issue with the additional focus on Lively's red carpet looks at the movie premieres.
As of writing, Lively has not publicly responded to the backlash.
