Blintzes, pirozhki and vereniki recalled in Florida, New York and three other states

A year’s production of blintzes, pirozhki and vareniki have been recalled in five states for a mistake that can prove fatal to some consumers.

M&P Food Production sent out two kinds of blintzes, three kinds of pirozhki and four kinds of vareniki with ingredient labeling that didn’t list allergens wheat, milk or sesame. What’s not a problem for most people can turn into the ultimate problem for some.

“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat, milk, and/or sesame run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products,” said the M&P recall notice, also posted on the FDA website.

These were sent to retail stores in Florida, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Maryland and have best by dates from Aug. 27, 2024, through Aug. 27, 2025.
