The Boys Sets 4 Records as It Tops Nielsen Overall Streaming Ranking; The Acolyte Returns to Originals Chart

With the release of its Season 4 finale, The Boys for the first time ever claimed the No. 1 spot on Nielsen’s highly competitive overall U.S. streaming ranking — and set a few other records along the way.

For the week of July 15, The Boys racked up 1.33 billion minutes viewed (a record for the series) across 32 total episodes. The Boys thus delivered a billion weekly minutes for an eighth time, a record for any Prime Video title.

This also marked The Boys‘ 20th lifetime appearance on Nielsen’s Overall Top 10, the most for any Prime series.

House of the Dragon dipped to second on the Overall chart, with 1.1 billion minutes viewed on Max, followed by Netflix’s Cobra Kai (1.09 billion minutes).

Over on Nielsen’s U.S. ranking of streaming originals, Cobra Kai again trailed The Boys, followed by Love Island (1.05 billion minutes viewed on Peacock/Netflix/Hulu), Netflix’s Vikings: Valhalla (713 million mnutes viewed) and Hulu’s The Bear (567 million minutes).

Rounding out the Top 10 originals for the week of July 15 were Netflix’s Homicide: Los Angeles, Evil (on Paramount+ and Netflix), Netflix’s Receiver and Bridgerton, and Disney+’s The Acolyte, which with the release of its freshman finale returned to the chart for the first time in six weeks.
