The Burning Questions We Need Answered in 'Emily in Paris' Season 4 Part 2

Get your Aperol Spritz and Vespa helmets ready, as “Emily in Paris” is set to bring its perennially bubbly and rose-tinted perspective to the vibrant streets of Rome. In the second-half drop of Season 4, due September 12, Lily Collins’ Emily embarks on a spontaneous work trip to the historic Italian city, where she might bite off more than she can chew (and we’re not just talking about pizza here).

In the trailer for the installment, viewers can tease out the remnants of the plotlines established in Part 1 of the light Netflix dramedy—namely, the honeymoon phase she embarks on as she finally begins her long-gestating romance with Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and the jealousy she feels when he spends time with Camille (Camille Razat), his ex and–as far as they know–the mother of his child.

What can audiences expect for Part 2? Read on for the burning questions we have about the release before all the episodes drop on Netflix on September 12.

Emily in Paris Season 4 Part 2 Burning Questions

How will Camille’s secret come out?

The shocking news that colored significant parts of Season 3 and the beginning of Season 4 has now been erased: Camille was never pregnant! As she discusses with a friend of hers, the test must have been a false positive, and a late gynecologist’s trip confirms that she is not carrying a child. At the end of Part 1, Camille comes close to spilling the news to Gabriel, but stops short after he waxes poetic about how excited he is to be a family, realizing the baby that doesn’t actually exist is what’s keeping them close to one another.

Now that Camille is not pregnant, will she get back together with Sofia?

After Camille went missing, Emily enlisted her ex-girlfriend Sofia’s (Melia Kreiling) help in finding her. When she turned up at Claude Monet’s historic house and museum in Giverny, the two reunited and decided to live together in an apartment adjacent to Gabriel so that the baby could be close to both parents. But, Sofia didn’t want a third person in her relationship—a pain point she discussed with Emily, who was experiencing the same frustration—and she was longing to return to Athens. In a mature breakup, the pair ended things. However, now that Camille has no reason, seemingly, to be near Gabriel, is it possible the two will rekindle their romance?

Can there be another way for Gabriel to get a Michelin star?

Throughout Seasons 3 and 4, Gabriel has been diligently working himself to the bone in hopes of acquiring a coveted Michelin star for his beloved restaurant. When it’s revealed that Luc’s (Bruno Gouery) girlfriend is not the inspector she purported to be (having been fired for corruption earlier), the bottom of Gabriel’s dream drops out. While he takes this in stride, gleefully firing the annoying, costly and cheesy pastry chef he had enlisted to help him get to that star, it’ll be curious to see if he’ll go for the gold again.

Are Alfie and Emily done for good?

As is perpetually the case with the off-and-on Emily and Gabriel, it’s possible trouble may be brewing in paradise as Camille gets too close for comfort and Emily succumbs to the same feelings that drove Sofia away. With that said, Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) might not be out of the picture for good. Even after the near-wedding fiasco that ended Season 3 disastrously, Alfie was willing to give Emily a second chance; however, Emily decided to end things to pursue Gabriel. With their relationship now potentially on the rocks in Part 2, will Emily go back to a familiar ex?

Will there be a new love interest competing with Gabriel for Emily’s affection?

Complicating matters even further, Emily seems to be cozying up to Italian love interest Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) in Part 2. The teaser for her Roman holiday includes sweeping motorcycle rides and swoon-worthy romantic pasta dinners. Additionally, the trailer itself seems to suggest that she opts for the spontaneous trip after things with her and Gabriel are on the fence. To make things even more messy, a new American ingénue by the name of Genevieve (Thalia Besson), who Emily takes under her wing, might be getting too close to Gabriel for her liking.

Is there a romantic future between Benoît and Mindy?

With JVMA’s top executive and Nicolas’ (Paul Forman) father in hot water following the bombshell article that included testimony from Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) about his sexual harassment, Mindy (Ashley Park) and Nicolas have been increasingly pulled in opposite directions. Though he has course-corrected and apparently followed Mindy’s advice on right vs. wrong, it didn’t help that she shared an intimate moment on stage with ex Benoît (Kevin Dias), a scene her boyfriend thankfully missed. With problems likely yet to come and Mindy perhaps spending more time with her band, we can’t help but wonder if sparks will fly once more.

What will happen with Agence Grateau after that article about JVMA’s top executive?

After the story dropped, it grew apparent that Sylvie’s Agence Grateau was being blacklisted by the company, along with her husband’s new Parisian club venture that was counting on seed money from JVMA’s CEO. With Julien (Samuel Arnold) back in the fold at Grateau, we’re wondering if the two companies will go head-to-head in the future.

What does Sylvie and her husband’s future look like?

While Sylvie’s relationship with her husband Laurent (Arnaud Binard) has always been extremely complicated, with his return to Paris and the successful launch of his club venture, can it be possible that the two reconnect? If Sylvie’s mother’s (Liliane Rovère)—who helped save the club’s launch with a last-minute venue—is to be listened to, Sylvie may take this opportunity to settle matters for good.

Will Mindy and the band be able to self-finance their Eurovision journey?

A side plot of Part 1 featured Mindy and her band receiving the exciting news that they were selected as France’s entry into the famed Eurovision competition. But when it becomes clear that the members will have to self-finance—everything from costuming to the bells and whistles that come with their stage performance—that trajectory grows increasingly implausible. But where there’s a will (and a headstrong Mindy), there’s a way!
