Calling adult children: Virgin Voyages offers free cruises to 'kids' up to age 26

If you’re young enough to still be on your parents’ health insurance, you can get a free cruise too. Adults-only cruise line Virgin Voyages is offering complimentary fares to guests between 18 and 26 through the end of the year.

“‘If you’re old enough to vote, you’re old enough to sail’ was the thinking that inspired Virgin Voyages’ (cheeky) definition of ‘children,’” the line said in a news release. “As a brand celebrated for its adults-only atmosphere, the company is changing its tune and answering the call of its sailors to bring their (adult) children on board.”

Travelers have to book by Aug. 23.

What are the terms of the promotion?

Passengers within the eligible age range must be sailing with their parent, guardian or caregiver to qualify. The deal is good for all cruises through Dec. 31, excluding Dec. 28 sailings on the line’s Scarlet Lady and Resilient Lady ships, as well as Valiant Lady’s Dec. 30 departure.

The promotion also only applies to the following cabin types:

  • Central Sea Terrace

  • Sea Terrace

  • Limited View Sea Terrace

  • Sea View

  • Insider

The deal is “only applicable with a second sailor in the cabin,” according to Virgin’s website. “If a third and fourth sailor are added to the cabin, they will pay the full prevailing cabin price.”

Guests must call the line’s Sailor Services at 954-488-2955 to take advantage of the offer.
