Candace Cameron Bure Makes a Vulnerable Confession About Filming 'Full House'
Candace Cameron Bure has opened up about her experience as D.J. Tanner on Full House in the past—but recently, she made a vulnerable confession about filming while she was a teenager.
During an Aug. 12 Pod Meets World podcast episode with Boy Meets World stars Danielle Fishel and Rider Strong, Cameron Bure spoke about her Full House days.
A clip she shared via Instagram showed Strong asking, "What age or season was the most difficult?"
For Cameron Bure, 48, it was when she went through puberty, at around ages 15 or 16, during episodes that talked about her weight.
"You know, I was always the chubby-cheeked girl. And a lot of people loved that I was," she explained. "And I can look back and go, like, 'I was just a normal, average girl.'"
The actress continued: "And yet, you meet people and they're always like, 'You're so much thinner in person!'...And you're just like, 'Is that all people see? Do they just see my chubby cheeks?'"

As Cameron Bure pointed out, many people feel insecure as teenagers, whether or not they're on TV.
"But it gets magnified when you are," she added. "So those ages were a little bit more awkward for me."
To end the teaser clip, Cameron Bure concluded: "I just wanna always want to go back and go, I just wanna hug 15-year-old Candace and go, 'It's OK. Don't listen to anyone.'"

In the comments, Instagram users reacted to the actress' confession and shared words of support.
One fan wrote, "Aren’t you glad there wasn’t social media back then? I can’t imagine how the child stars of today handle that. Hopefully they have amazing people around them to watch over them. I always thought it was great your family was on set with you. Plus you worked with good people too."
Another commented, "Always grew up thinking you were the most beautiful and aspired to be you ❤️," while someone else shared, "Ugh love this woman 💗."
Yet another fan wrote, "I have always had a round face and what people thought were chubby cheeks so I absolutely loved seeing you on tv, a girl my age with cheeks. I thought you were so pretty. Still do."

Today, Cameron Bure is the chief creative officer for Great American Media, also starring in many of its TV movies. She was previously part of the Hallmark family for 13 years.
Additionally, the actress reprised her role as D.J. for five seasons in the spinoff series Fuller House. Cameron Bure has five children with her husband, Valeri Bure: Natasha, 25, Lev, 24, and Maksim, 22.
